Inter-club series 'club night' - where Marlin Coast, Mareeba and Atherton swim clubs join together for a fun night of races and relays. Events will be 25m and 50m of each stroke, 200 individual medly and relays. Food The club kitchen will be open, serving spaghetti bolognese, sausage sizzle and kebabs until sold out (gluten free options available).  Drinks and frozies also available. Please RSVP by 8am Weds 1st Feb through the ticket system below so we can ensure we have enough food for everyone who wants to eat dinner. Payment for meals to be made on the night. Ho Ho Ho! Join the celebrations at the Marlin Coast Swimming Club annual Christmas break up and club night on Friday 2 December. A great night of fun for the whole family, including: Fun relays for kids and parents! Presentations, and a special visit from Santa. Pizza and soft drink will be available and tickets much be purchased in advance (gluten free and vegetarian pizza will also be available).  RSVP by Tuesday 29 November.  Tickets must be purchased to RSVP and ticket sales close at midnight on 29 Nov.  Note: due to the size of the club and popularity of our club night, we must ask everyone attending to purchase a ticket to help cover the food costs for the night. **Note - event rescheduled to Saturday 12 November ** Join Drs Liz McKenna and Alice Dobinson to learn more about some of those tricky topics for girls who swim.  The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session - anonymous questions can be submitted prior via email or you can ask on the day. Our presenters are both highly experienced and qualified gynaecologists from Cairns. Topic: High performance sports nutrition - take your swimming to the next level Aimed at: performance squad swimmers and their parents Please arrive early so we can start promptly at 6:30pm. This presentation will go into greater detail on performance nutrition.  It will be a hands-on session with the aim of helping swimmers develop a training nutrition routine and race-day nutrition routine. Key topics include: Nutrition and performance Planning and preparing to help nail your nutrition Swim carnival nutition Examples This session is developed and presented by a qualified sports dietitian from Health Management Dietitions.  It is provided at no cost to club members as a benefit of your membership.   Parents are welcome to attend both talks. You are invited to the offiical opening of the Marlin Coast Swimming Club clubhouse, by Craig Crawford MP, Member for Barron River on Saturday 6 August at 10am. Five years in the making - the clubhouse is the culmination of efforts of many parents, committees, donors, swimmers and local businesses. Save the date!  We really need all hands on deck for the Ironman Aid Station on Sunday 12th June, 2022.  This is our major fundraiser for the year.   We are awaiting more details from the Ironman event organisers, but it is always a fun day and great team building event.
